Natural Spirituality:

The healing and teaching of the Holy Spirit comes to each of us in the natural processes of life.  Our Biblical tradition calls this Wisdom.  In the Natural Spirituality program we seek to understand what God is saying to us as we attend to and respond to His presence in our daily lives.

The secular and sacred meet in this inner work of Christianity  and God leads us to live fully as the unique persons we were created to be.   In the Natural Spirituality group we support each other in this work through shared attention to our dreams and the meaningful coincidences of our lives and through commitment to live more consciously in our relationship with the Divine.

The Natural Spirituality program in our churches began in 1991 when Joyce Rockwood Hudson, in prayerful response to events in her own life, began a study group at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Athens, Georgia.  Subsequently she wrote a book, Natural Spirituality: Recovering the Wisdom Tradition in Christianity, which has been the foundation study guide for the Natural Spirituality group at All Saints.   The Episcopal Diocese in Arkansas has supported this ministry through SeedWork, a program to provide tools for spiritual growth in Christianity.  The Rev. Susan Sims-Smith and the SeedWork staff have offered support to parish churches developing Natural Spirituality programs for their congregations.

At All Saints the Natural Spirituality group meets weekly on Fridays at 2:00.  Through both study and discernment of our dreams and natural events in our lives we seek the underlying truth that moves our conscious attitudes to be more closely aligned with God.  For more information call All Saints Church at 968-3622.
